FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance should I place my order?
We tend to book up 6-8 weeks from any date so the sooner the better! But we do consider every inquiry and will accommodate when we can. Please keep in mind that your order is not confirmed until a 50% deposit is paid and that all changes must be made no later than two weeks prior to your event.
Do you have a minimum order?
Yes! The minimum for any order is $100. We are a small custom bakery and treat every order with the time and respect it deserves -so a minimum is a must. We appreciate your understanding!
How do I pay?
We accept cash, card, check, PayPal,and Venmo. All check payments are required no later than two weeks prior to your event and deposits are nonrefundable.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Yes! We offer two types of tastings for orders over $300, a formal sit-down with one hour of consultation and a tasting box that can be picked up and enjoyed at your leisure. Please inquire for more info!
Do you make small desserts?
Yes! We offer a variety of small desserts (check out our menu!) and can offer help to plan and design dessert tables to cater any event. The minimum order of $100 applies.
Do you offer gluten free, vegan, and other allergen sensitive desserts?
Yes! We can absolutely accommodate allergen sensitive requests and pride ourselves on not sacrificing taste in the process.

While every precaution will be taken in the cases of known allergies, it remains the responsibility of the client to inform recipients and guests. Do you have a retail location?
Not yet! We work out of a commercial kitchen in El Cajon, Ca and bake everything to order.
Do you deliver?
Yes! We are happy to help get you your order safely! Deliveries are priced according to location. Setup & stand rental is also available for an additional fee. Any cakes over three tiers are delivery only.
Where did the name Wednesday Cake come from?
In the fall of 2017, we rebranded our bakery as Wednesday Cake. Angela was inspired by her grandpa who in the 1950s would bake a black walnut cake from scratch every Wednesday, and then her dad, who in the 1990s would frequently bake a yellow box cake during the week. While we believe that amazing desserts are the highlight of any event, we tend to also think that Wednesday is as good a reason as any to celebrate with a cake, right? Angela's dad would say -You bet your ass.
